The Rome Marathon 2025, officially known as Run Rome The Marathon, is set to take place on Sunday, March 16, 2025, starting at 8:30 AM from Via dei Fori Imperiali. Celebrating its 30th edition, this prestigious race offers a breathtaking route through the Eternal City, allowing participants to run amidst some of the world’s most famous historical landmarks.
Race Route & Landmarks

The 42.195 km (26.2 miles) course winds through the heart of Rome, passing by:
- The Colosseum – both at the start and finish line
- The Roman Forum & Palatine Hill
- The Vatican & St. Peter’s Basilica
- Castel Sant’Angelo
- Piazza Navona & The Pantheon
- The Trevi Fountain – where runners can make a quick wish
- The Spanish Steps & Piazza del Popolo
- Circus Maximus – one of the oldest stadiums in the world
Runners will experience the challenge of cobblestone streets, scenic river views, and a grand finish with the Colosseum as a stunning backdrop.
