These invaluable pieces come from 34 prestigious national and international archives, including the Bodleian Libraries in Oxford, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the Museo Storico della Comunicazione in Rome, the Accademia dei Lincei, and the Italian Armed Forces (Navy, Army, and Air Force). Together, these materials paint a vivid picture of Marconi’s genius and his profound influence on the world.

Guglielmo Marconi, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist, is widely recognized as the father of radio and wireless communication. His groundbreaking work not only revolutionized long-distance communication but also played a pivotal role in maritime safety. A poignant example of his impact was the use of his wireless telegraph technology in the rescue of 705 passengers from the Titanic disaster. The exhibition, Guglielmo Marconi. Vedere l’invisibile is promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture and is organized and produced by Cinecittà and Archivio Luce. It is supported by the Marconi.150 National Committee and the Guglielmo Marconi Foundation, ensuring an insightful and well-curated presentation of his life’s work.

The exhibition also features the documentary Elettra, la nave laboratorio di Marconi, highlighting the inventor’s pioneering experiments conducted aboard his famous laboratory ship, Elettra.
